After passing under the freeway the right-of-way passes the edge of Cheviot Hills in a trench before becoming at-grade from Overland Avenue west.

West Los Angeles includes aerial stations at Sepulveda and Bundy and bridges over Sawtelle, Pico, and Centinela.

The Santa Monica right-of-way section runs from Centinela Avenue to 17th Street and includes the maintenance yard.

The last mile will run along the median of Colorado Avenue from 17th Street to the 4th Street terminus downtown, as requested by the City of Santa Monica.
